Hi everyone. I've heard of several IM programs that let you talk to people who use various different messengers, for example talking to people on Yahoo, MSN, AOL, and things like that. I know of some like Trillion, Miranda, and IM2. My question is: Does anyone know one that is fairly accessible with JAWS? If so, how easy/hard would they be to set up? I'm using JAWS 5.0 and have Windows XP. Thanks! *smiles*

Miranda is very accessible with JAWS, and is also very nonintrusive. You can get scripts for it at www.jhub.com, or is it jhub.net?

Thanks. I've tried it before but didn't understand all the plugin stuff, but then again, I didn't know there were scripts for it. So I'll try again as it would be really cool to have something where I can talk to all my friends. Laters for now. *smiles*

Blink is right, Miranda works very well and is fairly accessible. I used it when I had windows 98 and couldn't use the messenger anymore, however, I needed two or three days just to find out how to set it up to do what I wanted it to... But When you have managed that, it works very well, so don't give up too soon if you decide to give it another try...

Will it still work with windows 98? and can you still talk to people who are using msn messenger on it, even though you can't log in to msn messenger direct anymore? I went back in the main menue archives and listened to jammin Jerrys' review of it, but it sounds complicated to me, especially that part where you have to copy and paste a dll file in the c:programfilesmiranda directory. I don't like mucking about with dll files, they scare me.

There is a tutorial on using Miranda which includes information on getting the scripts at www.acbradio.org/archives/mainmenu/mm2074.mp3.

So how about trillian? Is it any good? I just came across it this morning and it looks really interesting.

There is a plugin for Miranda that gives you tabbed instant messeging, so rather then 5 windows open at once it's just one, and you use control+tab to switch back and fourth, I'm working on writing scripts for it as we speak.

Alrighty then, as far as I can tell, Trillian does not work with JFW nor Window-eyes. Bummer deal! Miranda looks complicated and buggy.

Complicated yes, buggy no. What makes you think it's buggy?

Not sure, read it on their website; I believe. I think they are having different problems or something. In what way is it complicated? Is it worth it? Lol, I just want dark background and light writing, and flippin msn messenger won't let me.
